Beyond My Father’s Farm - New Info!
It’s been over fifty years since I attended Caledonia-Mumford Central School.
With great pleasure it is; to announce the recent publishing of my book, "BEYOND MY FATHER’S FARM," it’s an autobiography, a true story.
I am sorry to say, I was not exactly an honor student or an attentive student or even a mediocre student; I failed English in my senior year and was at the very bottom of our class. After attending summer school at Monroe High in Rochester, I received my high school diploma from Caledonia Mumford Central in August 1955, shortly after my seventeenth birthday which occurred in July, 1955.
As the title implies, my story originates during 1945-1955 on our 48 acre farm in Mumford; my story moves on in 1955 developing well beyond my father’s farm and culminating in October 2008 as my beautiful wife, Katie and I celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary.
By the grace of God, I can honestly say my life turned out beautiful; happily married, successful, and beyond any one’s possible imagination or dreams. I believe that the odds of my life turning out as it has, would be less than one in a million.
Brief Bio:
I grew up in a very small town in western New York State on a forty-eight-acre farm with work horses, cows, chickens, pigs, and dogs. Shortly after obtaining my high school diploma in 1955 I found a job and moved to Rochester, where I attended night school at the University of Rochester.
I found the girl of my dreams, Katie, in 1960 and we married a year later. Then lived in the Pittsford-Perinton area until 1979 when we moved to St. Petersburg FL.
We have two children, John and Katherine. My working career covered forty-one years in finance with three different employers including seventeen years at Lincoln Rochester Trust Company, before retiring in 1996 at the age of fifty-seven from SunTrust Bank in Tampa, Florida. My wife and I sailed our Columbia 8.7 until 2003 ending thirty-five years of joyful sailing. We continue to pursue our dreams and enjoy our life together, sharing and walking on the white sand beaches in Florida, and traveling to distant places.
